  • Domain name variable $DOMAIN

Is there a pre-defined variable for the DOMAIN_NAME, like $DOMAIN?

Something like $GID or REMARK_SEQUENCE.NEXTVAL, which makes the insert statements much shorter and are easier to migrate from one domain to another.

    Re: Domain name variable $DOMAIN

    Hi

No there isn't but it's easy to create one for yourself..

    Assign Variable: $domain

Create and assign a Saved Query with the following code:

    Select SUBSTR($gid,1,INSTR($gid,'.')-1) from dual

      Re: Domain name variable $DOMAIN

      Hi Gary,

thanks for the quick reply. Is there an option to add this pre-defined variable to the other pre-defined Variables? I found in the help under 'Agent Variables' a list of pre-defined variables.

      Thanks, Karin

There's no way to add to predefined variables.

You have to declare it in each agent that you want it.

I generally use the substr to determine domain_name within any saved_query or DirectSQL Update - removing the need for a variable altogether
