  • Information requested for integration between OTM & EAM

    Hello Forum Members ,

Can anyone help me ( with finer level details) on how to go about setting up the below scenario in OTM.

Maintenance of Assets (which are created as Equipments, Fleets in OTM ) are done in Oracle EAM module .

There is a need to consider Maintenance down time ( available in EAM module ) while doing trip planning in OTM.

In simple words , Assets undergoing maintenance ( in EAM module ) should not be available in OTM for trip planning.

The maintenance down time information should automatically flow to OTM periodically and should be automatically considered by the OTM planning engine during Trip planning.

Any documentation , ideas , process outline or inputs on this would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Samrat

While OTM plans shipment (trip), OTM only assign equipment group/type to shipment. In your case, I believe users manually assign equipment type/equipment to shipment.

When an equipment out for maintenance, send GenericStatusUpdate transmission for equipment and update status of equipment which indicates that equipment is out for maintenance. Display the same status on equipment finder which user use to choose equipment.

Now it's time for user training that user should not use those equipment.

Automating the above scenario is possible using inventory management and by using bucket configuration efficiently., You can assign the equipment to Maintenance Bucket when the asset maintenance event is interfaced by EAM. You can also put a variable to pull out the end time for the event and thereby releasing the asset from the maintenance to "available" bucket., The end event should be monitored by milestone. Said that, the maintenance bucket should not be linked to "Available" bucket for Planning in the logic configuration. Doing this, can ensure the asset in maintenance bucket is not picked for planning.

Thanks Prashant for your inputs. Will try to design something around that.

            Hi,

            my approach is:

1: From OTM you have to enable direct XML insert data queue
2: You have to create a stage table in data base which will monitor the equipment or power unit status type
3: You have to write a procedure, when ever any changes happen on this table XML will trigger

As a result when ever a work order will release from EAM, same equipment or power unit will be inactive in OTM
And when work order status is closed, same equipment or power unit will be active

This active and Inactive status of asset behaves naturally in OTM planning so it will work
