  • Consol capacity

    Hi all,

    1) I have created a consol for a Flight which will allow maximum capacity ,50cuft
    2) I have 3 orders (identical) with 20T, 20T and 20T respectively.
    3) When we run bulk plan, all 3 order are consolidated into the consol shipments i.e. booked volume of 60cuft

Does planning engine consider "max vol" field in consol while planning shipment? or this is for information only?

    Requirement:
Orders should be consolidated into available consol till it reaches "max vol" defined in those consols. Remianing orders should fail if capacity is full for consol shipment.

<< Presently system is not imposing nay restriction on capacity of consol shipment - even orders with infinite vol are consolidated into consol>>

    Please help

    Re: Consol capacity

    Hi Nipun,

Yes the planning engine will check the Max weight and volume..orders can be added till it hits the Max vol and weight of the consol.

If you use the action "Build shipment on Primary Leg show consol options" while planning every order you will know the remaining weight and volume remaining in the consol, OTM will not show the consol if it exceeds Maximum Vol in the option.

    Hope this helps...
    Thanks,

      Re: Consol capacity

      Hi Vidya,

I am running the bulk plan and OTM planning engine automatically assign orders to consol shipment ( based on itinerary, which have 'use consol' option)

In this process, it also plans order even if they violate weight/volume constraint defined in consol.

          I am working on OTM 5.5 cu04.

Are you testing with bulk plan option?
is system giving error if order wt/volume is greater than max wt/vol mentioned in consol?

In my test case, bulk plan never fail - even if order wt/vol is greater than consol max wt/vol

            Hi Nipun,

ok... why you are trying Bulk plan for consol? did you check "use Consol" checkbox in your itinenary?does your shipment plans with that itinerary while using Bulk plan?

              Hi Vidya,

Yes I am successfully able to plan orders into consol shipments using bulk plan. I have used "use consol" option in the itinerary.

                Re: Consol capacity

                Hi Nipun,

When you create a shipment from consol, OTM creates an S.Equipment on the shipment. Kindly check the S.Equipment capacity (weight/volume). If volume of this S.Equipment is more than your Max volume of your consol the OTM will plan when using bulk plan. If S.Equipment volume and your Max volume are same then OTM will not plan excess orders.

So check your S.Equipment capacity (OTM creates S.Equipment based on the equipment mentioned on Itinerary or Order release) and then try once again with bulk plan.

                  Hi Uppili,

I have checked the S_equipment in consol shipment, but it does not have any equipment details.

It only contains total weight/volume of all Order Releases planned into it.

Is your equipment defined is a container?

Equipment defined in itinerary if not the container ( normal trailer configuration).

I guess, when "use consol" option is used in itinerary, equipment is not even considered by planning engine

                            Re: Consol capacity

Try giving standard weight and volume of an Air Container in your equipment defined in the Itinerary..
Its working fine allocating equipment as per order weight checking consol capacity...
                            Thanks,

Does your S.Equipment have any equipment group or equipment type id associated with it or simply it is blank?
