  • volume calculation

    Hi All,

I wanted to know how is the total volume of an OR is calculated when we create an OR?
Is it manual or something that happens automatically?
Please let me know your thoughts.

    Regards,
    Nikesh.

    Re: volume calculation

    Hi Nikesh,

    1. If you have a ship unit in the OR - it will be zero - if not sepcified.

    2. In case of Line Items - if you have specified the volume for the item and / or the packaging - it would use the same for the calculation

Hence if you want it automated - you can use the Line Item option. This works better when we know the items and are catering to fulfilling batch production.

    Regards

      Hi Nikesh,

Check out the topic "Deriving Data" in OTM Help. It provides a lot of information about the calculation of volumes and weights in OTM.

      Hope it helps,

      Alejandro B.

        Hi Arun and Nikesh,

In 5.5 CU3 RU4, there is a bug that was resolved for deriving volumes from ship units. You might want to check that out to see if it applies to you.
