  • Ground Schedule (Static)

I see a disconnect between Ground Schedule(Static Trip) and rate service .
Could someone let me know how rate service is connected to ground schedule.

    Re: Ground Schedule (Static)

Ground schedule is usually associated to rate service by the repetition schedule service - specify the rate service type as "GROUNDSCHEDULE" and in rate service details, insert the repetition schedule service. This will link your ground schedule to a rate service when planning is considering the schedule.

However, for static trips, (from the OTM help) "Static Trips: Used for creating empty shipments for a predetermined route and then moving order releases on to those shipments. It involves setting up a trip template and specifying all the trip stop times for the template"
i.e. if you specify all of the trip stop times, you don't need a rate service.

      Hi AMM,

Thanx for your reply. I have created the trip template and defined all the stops.

      While creating the shipment ,

System is picking up all the stops while rate distances and rates are not picked by system.

So how these values can be picked if rate service is not required in case of static trip.

      regards

        Hi,

I have come across a meta link note that rate offering , rate record, transport mode and service provider will reflect when release schedule instance is clicked. However, when I am trying to release the schedule instance then Null pointer exception is coming.

Has any one come across any issue like this?

        regards
        Vipin

          Hi Vipin,

I was able to induce my shipment (generated via a static ground schedule) to be rated using 'Release Schedule Instance' as per your suggestion above.

However, when I edit my shipment and clicked on the Financials tab, I got the following message "Loaded Distance Number of Digits must be less than 9". I was using 'LOOKUP ELSE ESTIMATE' as my Rate Distance.

          I'm using OTM 5.5 CU5.

Thanks again for your previous post - it was really helpful.

          Cheers,
          Simon.

I think I've figured out why OTM is giving the 'Loaded Distance Number of Digits must be less than 9' error. I've checked the database and found that the loaded distance on the shipment was 3000000579.9200000762939453125.

That's probably caused by erroneous Lat/Long data.

            Simon.
