  • Multi-stop Planning Rates

    Dear All,

Could anyone kindly explain me what this Multi-stop Planning Rates do in OTM.

I have a multistop scenario where if i use the RateOfferings in the MS planning rates its planning correctly. Whereas if i don't use my RO there and if the MS planning rates has few other Offerings attached to it its building independent shipments instead of creating a single mutistop.

Had gone through the OTM help, but didn't understand.

    Thanks in advance.

    Arun,

You can setup Multi Stop" planning parameters and make that as default set if you are running Bulk Plan through automation agent / process management.

Let us know is case your requirement is not this.

      Lakshman,

Iam not talking about the planning parameters here. I believe you are talking about the multistop logic configurations which can be assigned to a planning parameter and my question is not about that.

Its about Multistop Planning Rates which can be accessed, Transportation Planning and Execution > Power Data > Planning > MultiStop Planning Rates.

        Arun,

Multistop Rates help you in reducing the scope of rates that OTM has to look for when building the multistop scenarios. Lets say you have a multistop itinerary defined and you have defined a couple of rates defined as multistop planning rates then OTM will look at only these rates when planning for a multistop shipment.

You should be careful about multistop rates since if you have defined even a single rate in the multistop rates then system considers only the rates defined in the multi-stop planning and not other normal rates for multistop itineraries. So option before you is either to define all the rates where multistop has to be considered in the multistop planning rates option or not to define any rate at all.

        Hope this helps.

        Regards,
        Vipin

          Vipin,

          Thanks for the reply...

I understand what you have explained here, but i have a small question.

Say i have a Multistop itinerary and i didnt use my Rate Offerings in the MS planning rates.

But i have few other Rate Offerings which is defined in the MS planning rates. If i plan my order releases its building independent shipments for each stops using my rate offerings which i have not defined in the planning rates.

As per your definition OTM will look only for the defined rates in the MS planning, and in the above case since i have not defined my rate offerings there and Ms planning rates has few other rate offerings defined,it should fail to build shipments instead of building independent one right.

Hope my question is clear and let me know if iam wrong.

            Re: Multi-stop Planning Rates

I think, ur shipments are not getting built as multistop shipments.

I will suggest that you look for log to find out why these rate offerings are not considered.

              hi Arun:
remember you also need to create multistop itineraries for the MS shipments to build that way.

              regards

                All:

I was recently at a training session in KoP and asked Sundar about this functionality.

His response was that it is very old and has not been maintained. In other words, it is useless.

                  Joy,

I have received the response from Oracle as a reply to one of my SR that if I have a few records defined in multistop planning rates then I need to define all those rates where I want the multistop records to be considered. Or otherwise I should not define a single record in the multi-stop planning record.

My issue had resolved when I had done these settings.
