  • Consolidation of Orders having Release Equipment

    Hi,

How do I get orders having release equipment be consolidated at equipment level? Refer to sample below:

Order Release 1 with Release Equipment = 1 5T truck
Order Release 2 with Release Equipment = 1 5T truck

    Expected result:

    Shipment consolidated OR1 and OR2 with Equipment = 1 5T truck

Basically, release equipment on both Order 1 and Order 2 should be merged when planned. How can I achieve this? I've read from OTM Help about a "Allow Equipment Consolidation" flag in Order Release Constraints. That is supposed to address it, but I'm getting a diffirent result when I checked that flag in both orders. One of the order gets planned successfully while the other failed.

Would appreciate if you can help enlighten me on how to do it the proper way.

    Thanks and Best Regards,

    Michael

Re: Consolidation of Orders having Release Equipment

    Hi,

    Managed to achieve the following:

Order Release 1 with Release Equipment = 1 5T truck
Order Release 2 with Release Equipment = 1 5T truck

    Result:

    Shipment consolidated OR1 and OR2 with Equipment = 1 5T truck

This is made possible by setting "Allow Equipment Consolidation" flag to true for both orders and disassociate the ship units to the release equipments - meaning let the system do the assignment of ship unit to equipments. However, I noticed that the system does not perform capacity check. Say if the the total volume of ship units from OR1 and OR2 exceeds the max. volume capacity of 5T truck, the system still permits it. Is there a way to impose a check to ensure that capacity of equipment is not being violated during such equipment consolidation?

    Thanks and Best Regards,

    Michael
