  • [SOLVED] Ship unit dimensions are ignored in Bulk planning

    Hi,

Bulk plan is not considering ship unit dimensions (Length,Width and height) while planning.

    Equipment Capacity:

    Effective Volume-324360 cubic feet

    Equipment Length-53
    Equipment Width-102
    Equipment Height-60

    Order release ship unit:

    ship unit Length: 50
    ship unit width: 104
    ship unit height: 60

The total volume is 312000 cubic feet. (All dimensions are in feet)

I noticed that OTM checks for the above total volume and since its less than Equipment effective volume, OTM plans the shipment. This should have failed, since the ship unit width is greater than the maximum width in equipment.

OTM didnot consider the ship unit dimensions at all in equipment selection and planning. I had checked planning parameters/work flow parameters also. There is no feature to enable OTM consider ship unit dimensions in planning.

What needs to be tweaked to consider ship unit dimensions in equipment selection and planning?

    Regards,
    Rajiv

As my understanding, Bulk Plan only considers dimenstions when Load Configuration is enabled.

Do you checked the item, commodity and Equipment Group profile attached to it. The way i understood, item is linked to commodity and commodity is linked to Equipment Group. So during planning process, planning engine will pick the right equipment depends on the item and shipunit and picks the corresponding Rateoffering that has the Equipment Group profile attached..

      Thanks,

        Hi Joseph and Vinoth,

        Thanks for your replies.

I raised this with support and they have confirmed this as a defect.

Defect No: 9505792, "PACKAGE WIDTH BEING IGNORED WHEN SELECTING EQUIPMENT"
