  • Shipment planning with incorrect equipment

I have one origin location that never ships anything on reefers (because of their location), however if another site ships the same items they would be flagged as temp controlled and need to ship on a reefer. Since the temp control information is coming over from integration based on the item, I am using an agent to remove the temp control flag and 53FT_REEFER equipment group constraint when the order is created. When the shipment is planned it is planning with is_temperature_control = N, which is correct. However, it is still planning with an equipment group of 53FT_REEFER instead of 53FT_DRYVAN. We default everything to 53FT_DRYVAN unless otherwise indicated. Since the equipment group is still reefer, the tender that goes out is still being flagged as temp controlled on a 53FT_REEFER.

What am I missing that will direct this to plan on a 53FT_DRYVAN? I can't seem to find anything in the logs that would help me determine why its choosing reefer instead of dryvan for the equipment. Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards,
    Michelle

Re: Shipment planning with incorrect equipment

You meant to say that you are putting 53FT_DRYVAN contraint on the Order. Correct? If you want to plan a order with a specific equipment. You should have that equipment as part of Order constraint. Also, make sure you have rates for the equipment.

If it is still not picking based on the constraint, please turn on planning and planningdetail logs and check what you see in the logs.

Are you using commodity on item ? Normally on commodity, you can define equipment group. During planning order, bulk plan pick this.
