  • No Rate Offering Matched

We have recently installed OTM in our development environment -
    OTM 5.5 CU05
    Oracle EBS 11.5...
    BPEL 10.1.3.3.0

I loaded carriers using the concurrent carrier synch in Oracle apps. I then loaded customer locations, addresses, location_corporations, location_role_profiles, and rates (geo_heirarchy, x_lane, rate_geo, accessorial, cost group) via CSV uploads.

I want to view rates using the Rate Inquiry and cannot get any rates to display. I get the error: No Rate Offering Matched using the Find Rates in Rate Inquiry.

I have since concentrated on one customer location, service provider, lane, rate, and rate offering trying to find out what I have missed. I have reviewed the setups for the customer location and service provider to ensure they look reasonable. I then manually created a Rate Service, Rate Offering, Rate Record, and Rate Preference. I've created one for LTL and one for TL. I thought possibly I had not created the rates properly via the CSV loads so I went back and added two types of rates manually.

When I use the Find Rates in the Rate Inquiry, I am using the location ids for source and destination. I've tried entering as many filters as I know and also keeping the search as wide open as possible.

I keep getting the error message: No Rate Offering Matched. I'm sure I've missed a setup somewhere, but am at a loss as to where to look at this point.

I realize I'm posting what I've done in general terms, but based on this, does something glaring pop out that I might have missed? I nudge in the right direction would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Erin

    Re: No Rate Offering Matched

What do you have as the Basis on the Rate Costs Tab of your Rate Record? Are distance calculations required for the Rate to be determined...in other words, is your Rate Record based on Shipment Distance (per mile)? If so, have you specified the Distance from Source to Destination?

      Re: No Rate Offering Matched

I have total shipment weight as my cost basis. The rates I entered are based on weight breaks. After I read your question, I started reviewing in detail all my setups. I have since changed some things in the rate record and other places and am getting ready to recheck the rate offering. I am still not able to get the rate inquiry to come up, but I feel I'm getting much closer. Well, let's say I'm understanding this a little more. I may not be any closer to success, but I have a better understanding of what needs to be setup.

Thank you for your reply as it has given me some thoughts as where to look for the problem.

Erin, there are loads of reasons why RIQ will not work even when you go back over and over the data you have loaded to check that it is correct.

In essence, if the data you have loaded has got through the CSV upload process, then it should be "clean". The best, and really quickest way I have found to fix these issues is to turn on the maximum amount of rate and SQL related logging that you can in the log files, run an RIQ, and then look for where things are going wrong in those log files. If nothing else, that will be the level of detail that you will want to log with Oracle support if you cannot fathom it out yourself.

If you want help on setting up the log files to do this let me know and also, if you already know how to do this in the log files then feel free to post the results of an RIQ run and I am sure someone on here will be able to assist.

Thank you! I will review the level of detail in the log files, make any necessary modifications and rerun another RIQ this morning. I should have thought of that. Thank you and again for the suggestion.

            Re: No Rate Offering Matched

I am attaching a portion of the log file for my RIQ. This was generated by me doing an RIQ from our Oracle DEV environment. I thought possibly this way would provide more information in the log than doing Rate Inquiries within OTM. I am able to follow where it finds the source and destination locations as well as the item referenced on the Oracle order. It is possible there is a problem with the Rate Offering, but I can't see that from the log. Hopefully, someone will be able to look at this and know exactly what I've failed to set up. I set up the rates by weight breaks so I'm using shipment weight as the basis.

            Thanks in advance,

            Erin

              Re: No Rate Offering Matched

Erin, there is nothing in those log files that explains why you are not getting a result from RIQ unfortunately. At this point, I would do the following:

              1) if you have loaded rates via CSV see if you can restart the app. server to make sure that those rates are cached correctly. I seem to remember having similar problems a long time ago so but if there is anyone on here that has smarter ways of checking that, please jump in.

              2) turn on the RateEngineDetails and Sql details in the log file you are looking at and re-run the RIQ. At the end of the day, the RIQ will be running a SQL query to try to retrieve the rate offerings and rate records based on the source and location ID's you are entering. The SQL details will give you the best clue of what is not being returned to the screen.

                Hi Erin,

If your rates are based on 'total shipment weight' then try rate query again with some details in "Commodities" section in Rate inquiry page i.e. ship unit count, weight, volume, length, breadth, height etc.
