  • Rating based on cost and distance

    Hi

I have a scenario where in I have defined two itinerarier
    a) a multistop itinerary
    b) an itinerary which goes from source location to deconsol pool and then different shipments to the multiple dest locations

My itinerary (a) costs more but the distance travelled is less whereas my itinerary (b) costs less but the distance travelled is more.

The system always picks up (a) as the preferred itinerary while planning.

Is there a planning parameter to help rate on cost and then on distance?

PS: When I make my itinerary (a) inactive, the system (b) is picked up.
I am using OTM 6.0. Are there any parameters I can change to help me pick up itinerary(b).

OTM doesn't select an itinerary based on cost, but merely on feasibility. Once an itinerary is chosen, OTM will select the cheapest rate.

If you want OTM to consider both a multistop and pool, you have to set up an itinerary that can handle both.

There are 2 Multistop Logic Configuration Parameters which you may want to adjust and test:

      MULTISTOP EXTRA DISTANCE PERCENTAGE TOLERANCE
      MULTISTOP EXTRA DISTANCE TOLERANCE

In addition, you may want to increase these to see if they have any positive effect:

MULTISTOP OUT OF ROUTE DISTANCE PCT TOLERANCE
MULTISTOP OUT OF ROUTE DISTANCE TOLERANCE
