  • Minimum Costs per Stop

    Hello,

I am not sure, if this is WAD or a BUG.

I like to have costs per stop. The minimum cost per stop should be 200 EUR.

But OTM is checking the total costs of the shipment.

In this example the second and the last stop should cost 200 EUR:

1 EUR per 1 KG of Stop Weight [min: 200.0 EUR]
    297.0 KG = 297 EUR
    198.0 KG = 198 EUR
    99.0 KG = 99 EUR

Could you please tell me, if this is working as designed and if yes, if there is another way to get the minimum costs per stop.

    Thanks, Karin

    Re: Minimum Costs per Stop

    Test Scenario:
1 USD per 1LB of stop weight [Min: 20 USD]

    Stop 1: 22LB = 22USD
    Stop 3: 11LB = 20USD
    Stop 1: 11LB = 20USD

    Total: 62 USD

    ____________________

    Solution:
    1. Create Rate break profile - based on weight ( with one rate unit break ID i.e. max weight as 10000LB)

    2. In rate record, use this rate break profile; mention max charge amount as 1USD and min. charge as 20USD in it

3.Use "stop weight" as charge break comparator

    4. Test the above scenarios with multistop shipment ( A->B->C)

I tried in my instance. It worked perfectly fine. Let me know if you face any problem in simulating the above scenario.

      Re: Minimum Costs per Stop

      Hi Karin,

Do you want to rate both on stop and stop weight basis?

If so, you need to add 2 rate cost basis.

      1. 200 EUR/stop
      2. 1 EUR per 1 KG of stop weight

The first rate basis will charge 200 EUR for every stop, and the next will charge 1 EUR/KG of stop weight.

        Hi,

I had mis-understood your question. I think the below is the requirement.

In a multistop shipment, you have the following activities:

        Stop A - Pick up - 297 kg
        Stop B - Drop - 198 kg
        Stop C - Drop - 99 kg

You want to charge 1 euro/kg of stop weight and a minimum of 200 euros for each stop, which means your total cost should be 297(at A) +200 (at B)+200 (at C) = 697 euros.

OTM is not picking the individual stop weights (297 at A, 198 at B and 99 at C) for rating. Instead it picks the total stop weight (297+198+99) for rating.

I think its not possible to constraint this based on stop weight as such.

Can any one suggest a work around?

        Thanks,
        Rajiv

          Hi,

I've made this work as per the above requirement (see attachment).

            Hi,

we have this as workaround already installed. But it was a lot of work to change all the rate records

I have created a Enhancement Request for the Minimum Field. It should not look at the total cost. It should look at the value, which is specified in the cost base.

            Thanks, Karin
