Post save nagivation in menu layout

Once I click on finished on a record , I want to the control to back to the menu & not to the result page.

I tried the post save navigation on the menu loayout for this . But it gives a java null pointer error when i click on finish.

Any idea why it is so.Is there any other way to over come the result screen after we click on finish.
