email\message center not working in 5.5

    I am testing an agent in 5.5 and I can not get outbound email or message center to work in OTM.

    I have checked the glog.properties and made sure the email settings are correct.

    I have a contact with email and message center set.

    I have tried to get OTM to send out a notification and I get no results.

    I see workflow publishing a notify contact action and it executing. I checked the SQL, and I have a bunch of log id's enabled.

    Is there a missing set up not detailed in OTM to get message center or email working?

    I feel like I missed a step.

    I believe there is a new field against the contact. The field in the DB is IS_NOTIFICATION_ON. This should be set to 'Y'

        What CU are you on? Just fyi - in 5.5 CU5 (we now have ru2 installed, but had ru1 at the time) I found we had to enable some data queues which we did not previously have enabled in order for outbound emails to work. (see the data queue menu item under business process automation). You can also try testing it at the server command prompt level with this command just to validate email is set up correctly in general (assuming you are on linux) - -

        echo "test" | mail -v -s "otmrocks" [email protected]
