  • Adding Shipment Event through an automation agent

Is it possible to add the event CP to the shipment via an automation agent. The agent should listen for an external event and then add the event accordingly to the shipment.

    Thanks

    Hi Surender

The second statment of your query is quite possible to achieve. But what is CP?

I am sorry CP is a quick event. I want to define a quick Event and add it to the shipment through an automation agent.

        Hi Surender,
Were you able to get this? Please do share if you were successful. We are also trying a similar thing.

Re: Adding Shipment Event through an automation agent

This is the way I am using for creating Event from Agent - Loopback Transmission + XSLT

My case is from Order Release to Sell Shipment Event. But you can apply the way to Shipment to Shipment Event or Shipment to Order Event as well.

You might also need to use Out XML Profile to improve performance.

            Hi Joseph,

Thanks for your reply. The method looks great. I just need to know that when I hit the WMServlet URL on my browser, it says "HTTP Status 405 - HTTP method GET is not supported by this URL". How can I fix this stuff?

            Thanks & Regards,
            Naveen

Re: Adding Shipment Event through an automation agent

WMServlet only allows POST method. When you access the servlet URL directly via browser, it's through GET. That's why you get the error.

If you don't have an integration server to test your XML, you can use XML Transmitter (freeware) or XMLHttpRequest object (see sample code attached).

                Thanks Joseph,

I have another tool called TCPMon which I use to send test HTTP transmissions to OTM. Any idea if this work in this case as well? Anyhow I'll still give it a try. Thanks for prompt response.

                Regards,

Re: Adding Shipment Event through an automation agent

                  Hi Joseph,

I tried your suggestion above. I was not able to get the loop back transmission. I wanted to add a shipment event based on a change of shipment status. The agent sends the integration successfully but there is no transmission inbound to OTM.
I have placed the XSL in the following path on the server:
                  <OTM_HOME>\apache\htdocs\xsl\workflow
Please let me know if I need to do anything else. The logs don't show any error.
                  Thanks in advance.

                  Regards,

Re: Adding Shipment Event through an automation agent

For integration transformation, you must upload .xsl files via Business Process Automation > Integration > Integration Manager > Upload an XML/CSV Transmission
Please note that this has to be done by DBA.ADMIN

Since you didn't see any (file not found) error, I assume you did not configure stylesheet in External System.

Re: Adding Shipment Event through an automation agent

I'm most of the way through this process (Thanks very much, by the way), but I'm having problems with the xsl:variables in the xsl file. No matter how I set them, they don't seem to come up in the transformed XML. I do get the desired structure, but not the data. I'm uploading the XSL I'm trying to use.

                        Any ideas?

                        Thanks,
                        Spencer

Re: Adding Shipment Event through an automation agent

                          Try to see whether element
                          /Transmission/TransmissionBody/GLogXMLElement/PlannedShipment/Shipment/ShipmentHeader2/SightingDate/GLogDate
                          exists in your raw XML.
                          If not, set OUT_XML_PROFILE=GLOG_NONE

Once you get correct result, configure your own OUT_XML_PROFILE to remove unused elements. This is very important to system performance.
