  • Email Notification

    Hi,
In OTM, we setup email notification in automation agent when Order Release created. Automation agent is sending email notification to the contact perfectly.

    Our requirement is
    ===================
When sending the email to the contact, can we set "Reply-To" email id in the mail? So that in case of reply of the mail or in case of bounce/error in mail delivery, the reply/delivery failure notification can come in the "Reply-To" email id.

Please let us know how to achieve our requirement.

    Thanks,
    Dilip

    Re: Email Notification

If you can not change property of glog.workflow.notify.advisor.email
then maybe you can try to use From Address Contact (via Business Process Automation > Communication Management > From Address Contacts)

      Re: Email Notification

      Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Will test and revert back to you.

      Could you please tell me:
      1. Can we set the "Reply-To" email id in Automation agent level? So that for a particular action and notification, "Reply-To" email id will be set.
      2. Can we set the "Reply-To" email id depending on the login user?

      Thanks,
      Dilip

        Re: Email Notification

When using NOTIFY CONTACT in an agent, the sender is always by default OTM Advisor (as described by Joseph)

You can't specify the sender/reply-to in the agent and this is not configurable by user

          Re: Email Notification

As far as I know, OTM has no place to specify "Reply-To"
By configuring From Address Contacts + Contacts may, to certain level, meet your first requirement.
But the second one is simply impossible to achieve in OTM.

            Re: Email Notification

            1. If we set the "From Address Contact ID" in the Contact, for any failure/bouncing the mail delivery, will the failure/bounce delivery notification come to that "From Address Contact ID"?

            2. If we don`t set the "From Address Contact ID" in the Contact, for any failure/bouncing the mail delivery, will the failure/bounce delivery notification come to the mail id mentioned in the glog property "glog.workflow.notify.advisor.email"?

              Re: Email Notification

I was intrigued by Joseph's way of saying that "maybe you can try to use From Address Contacts", so I created a thread dedicated to this functionality:

                Re: Email Notification

I tested to set the From Address in Contact screen and found it is working properly. But we can only set one From Address in Contact screen.
But this is not fulfilling our requirement.

We have to send Booking Sheet whenever user do the action > Tender Shipment from the Shipment screen.
For this purpose we setup an Automation Agent to send the Booking Sheet whenever Shipment is tendered.

There are 20 users (with different User ID) in one domain. All these 20 users will do the tender of Shipment and booking sheet will be sent to one notification.
Our requirement is: the user doing the tender of Shipment, the email id of that user should be set in the From Address in Contact screen dynamically. So that email bounced/failed to deliver the booking sheet should be notified to that user. Each user has one contact in OTM.

Is it possible to achieve our requirement by Automation Agent? If so, please let us know how?

                  Re: Email Notification

If you are talking about Tendering emails, you could set LOGISTICS involved party as corresponding user before tendering.

But for other notifications, there is no easy way achieving this.
So far, I have two ideas in my mind.

                  1) Duplicate your Conatcts as CONTACTxUSER, i.e. you will have x20 Contacts, with corresponding From Address Contact. Then send notification to specific CONTACTxUSER using Agent.

                  2) Send Interface to external system. Then handle Send Email process externally.

                    Re: Email Notification

You could make the following change your agent sending the Booking Sheet. Prior to the action NOTIFY CONTACT, (sql) update the From Address Contact with the current user, and then change it back again.

                      Re: Email Notification

I have another idea for you.
Try Additional Contacts + Shipper Corporation:

                      Additional Contacts

You can configure the system so that it notifies one or more persons when or if an event occurs. In fact, you can set up layers of notification so that several people are notified for shipments and web tendering. You can notify those people using various modes of communication. A location, buyer, customer, shipping agent or service provider can have multiple contacts. Note that each contact can only be used once between all of the above objects.
Assign contacts to objects by entering it, and clicking Save. Once a contact is assigned, that contact is listed on this page.
If you are working within a service provider, you can set up a specific contact to handle individual client tenders based on the client's Shipper Corporation. One contact can be associated with many client corporations. If you assign more than one contact associated to the client corporation, the system chooses the first contact it finds for tendering purposes. To have a service provider contact act as the contact for a specific client, associate the contact with a Shipper Corporation in the Contact Manager.
For example, a service provider can have one contact handle all tender requests from CLIENT X while another person at the service provider handles all tender requests from CLIENT Y. In this case, any other client tenders would be sent to the primary contact of the service provider.
