stored query

Hi,
I have a screen with a button called 'fetch'.When the user clicks on it,it should execute a stored query(which searches all the invoices prepared by user) and should display the results of Invoice search page.
Can anyone please let me know how to do it or is any specific meaning is there for stored query?
