  • OTM SAP Integration

Could someone please explain the integration architecture used for OTM to SAP integration. I did an understanding on the system landscape for the same.

Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Cheers,
    Murthy

    Re: OTM SAP Integration

    Hello,

What do you mean by architecture - the systems used?

If so, then it's the same as integrating with any other OMS/WMS, where you need SAP, an integration/translation engine between them and then OTM. OTM sends and accepts G-Log XML as usual. You won't run into any special requirements, other than the actual translation of the G-Log XML to/from SAP IDocs.

      Re: OTM SAP Integration

      Hi Chris,

I would like to know what is the preferable translator for integrating SAP to OTM. As BPEL in case of Apps and OTM.

I would also like to know from where can we get some sort of documentation on that translator.

      Cheers,

        Re: OTM SAP Integration

I don't believe there is one that is preferable - I've seen it done with BPEL, webMethods, and the included Python scripts -- so any integration engine should work, as long as it supports both endpoints.

Thanks for the quick reply Chris. As far as performance is concern, which could be better? Is it BPEL / webMethods?

            Re: OTM SAP Integration

I've seen higher-volumes pass through webMethods, than through BPEL. In the end, I believe it's a business decision, though -- based on the costs of each solution and the direction that the company wants to go in for their integration.

The integration framework chosen will likely (and should) be used by many different applications as the company adopts it.

Thanks for all the inputs Chris. I will get back to you once I go through some details on webMethods.

              Thanks once again.

                Chris,

Can we use SAP XI as a middleware? Any idea on this?

                  Re: OTM SAP Integration

                  Hi Lakshman/Chris,

I had posted a query on SAP integration with OTM using SAP-PI. Can you please share your inputs if you have:

                  "Hi,

We are trying to integrate SAP modules with OTM. We are planning to use SAP-PI as the middleware. The SAP PI team is facing issues using our GLOG XSD file (common file containing mapping for all interface elements). They are asking us to provide individual XSD files for each interface (one for delivery, one for exchange rate etc.,) as using a common GLOG XSD is causing they PI application to hang.
Any one has done integration of OTM with SAP modules using PI? Can you please let us know how did your teams use the XSDs provided by OTM?

PS: SAP integration with OTM using BPEL worked without issues using common GLOG XSD file.

                  Thanks much!

                  Vikram
                  "
                  Thanks
                  Vik
