  • Experience with IE9

    Hi,
I would like to know the group's experience with accessing OTM using IE9 with Windows 7. We are trying to evaluate whether IE9 is better than earlier versions of IE for OTM.
    Regards,
    Ashwin

No issues here. You do have to enable the compatibility mode in order to use OTM though.

Just to add a bit more to this - IE9 is not officially supported, though it pretty-much works in compatibility mode. I've seen some screens that still don't render correctly, however. It's a shame that you can't use IE9 standard, since it is *much* faster at rendering the complex OTM pages.

If you're looking for pure performance and having screens render and display as quickly as possible, Firefox is still your best bet. Again, Oracle doesn't "officially" support newer versions of FF, but I haven't had an issue event with 12.x.

          Chris,
I believe IE is much better, With FF i face very weird issues at times, like the result columns of the screen sets are not aligned. Refer attached image.

            Re: Experience with IE9

I used to be torn between IE and FF. IE displays the screens more accurately, but FF displays them much faster (it starts rendering before the download is complete). Now that I use Macs, though, FF is the only choice

Is Oracle actually supporting OTM to work on systems other than M$ Windows? Ubuntu, WebOS, ...?

Not exactly. They support certain browser versions, but (if I remember correctly), don't specify the underlying OS.

Yes, sometimes we also facing issues in IE9 as, "Not supported browser" while using OTM 6.2

                  Thank you!

Once you enable the compatibility flag everything should work ok and you will no longer see that "Not supported browser" error. In IE 11, they moved it where you now need to go under the Tools --> Settings and manually add the site.
