  • Is there a Standard Report for User Access

    All,

I'm posting the following for one of our users (skanth), who is having an issue accessing the site:
I have the following request from my management. Can anyone tell me if these reports can be generated out-of-box or if there are any products in the market which can help us.

Goal is to create a report that shows,

    a) the number of times each user executes a rate inquiry in a given period of time

    b) the number of time each user logs into OTM in a given time period

    c) the average number of times each user logs into OTM in a given time period

    d) the total duration of the time each user is logged into OTM in a given period of time

    e) the average duration of time a user is logged into OTM for each occurrence that they log in

    Thanks in advance,
    Sashi

Re: Is there a Standard Report for User Access

I'm not aware of any standard reports that will provide this information. Some of this information can be accessed from the OTM user tables, but others are not saved within the system. In particular, the length of time that someone is logged in is difficult, because most people don't log out - they just close their browser.

You can also try turning on the OTM Audit feature in order to track other bits of information, but the performance impact is significant.

      Chris,

Your response to reports pretaining to user access caught my attention because I am actually trying to find out how to extend the inactivity period for the users. Currently if the users don't perform any activity for 15 minutes they are forced to log in again. I believe this was a setting that ws changed during implementation but I wasn't involved in that piece. Any ideas where that setting may be?

      Thanks, ShawnM

Hello - Someone helped me find the files so I thought I would share.
<otm_install_path>/tomcat/conf/web.xml and <otm_install_path>/glog/gc3webapp/WEB-INF/web.xml. Edit the following line in each file:
      <session-timeout>30</session-timeout>

      Thanks, ShawnM
