  • Can we have a single OBIEE instance integrated to multiple systems?

    Dear Pals,

I have 2 queries on OBIEE:

    1) Can we use the same OBIEE instance to integrate with more than one application? Say EBS, PeopleSoft and OTM (Oracle Transportation Management)
    2) Will OBIEE maintain separate tables for each application, to which it has an out-of-box integration? For Data integrity purpose… What I mean is OTM uses tables whos name starts with D_, E_ and F_ for FTI. If we integrate OBIEE with any other system, do they also use the same tables?

    Thanks & Regards,
    Lakshman
    Cheers,

As far as I have seen you can only configure the OBIEE to connect to one data source. The problem lies when you need to configure the Scheduler and are asked for the database. There doesn't appear to be an option of adding multiple databases, rather just changing the connection details.

        1. What do you mean by that? Are you using the Oracle BI applications for EBS and Peoplesoft? If yes, then you would get multiple repositories for each of them. For each repository you must have one instance running at least. If you are running something custom to integrate all three applications, then I do not now.
        2. If you integrate with other systems, that depends on your integration.
But generally speaking, all Oracle provided applications provide a separate repository for each source system. If you have to integrate with them, integrate at your risk.
