  • User access restriction in SQL servlet

    Hi,

Can we restrict user access to only perform read statements (like Select) and prevent all sorts of write statements (insert, update, delete) through SQL servlet?
    If yes, then how?
    If no, then why not?

Yes, it can be done using Access Control Lists. It is under Configuration Administration -> User Management -> Access Control Lists! ACLs then either granted or revoked at user role or user ID level.

Re: User access restriction in SQL servlet

      Hi faizan300,

If I understand you question correctly, you are asking how can you implement it?

ACL is out of box functionality and it can be assined at role or user level.

If you intended to ask something else please elaborate.
      Thank You,

Hi, I try to restrict updates in Sql Servlet. I created an ACL from ADMIN and took off 'SQL - Update' and 'SQL - View'. User is still able to do updates. Is there anything else should I do?

        Regards,

        Fran

Correction to the previous post... I created an ACL copied from ADMIN and took off 'SQL - Update'. User is still able to make updates.
