Title: Scenario Management with Oracle In-Memory Logistics Command Center (LCC)
    Speaker: Srini Rajagopal, Oracle

Strategic and operational scenario management is central to creating a robust, resilient and profitable logistics network. Oracle In-Memory Logistics Command Center (LCC) is the only product available that utilizes the power of Oracle’s Engineered Systems and leverages the best-in-class logistics platform of Oracle Transportation Management. LCC uniquely determines optimal logistics strategies by simulating actual operations using detailed operational data about the network. This allows for an accurate representation of the results of each scenario and for a realistic analysis that yields implementable response policies. The benefits of this new approach to logistics networks scenario management include: increased supply chain resiliency and agility, cost and service improvements through operational excellence, improved profitability, and achievement of higher levels of supply chain sustainability.

Title: Network Routing – A Grocery Distribution Use Case
          Speaker: Al Drummond, Oracle

The “Grocery Distributor” is patterned after the requirements of several current customers who are in the process of evaluating or implementing 6.3 for Network Routing. The capabilities that are highlighted in this presentation are primarily the features that are part of the 6.3.2 work so they are new to network routing.

The new features in 6.3.2 are Allocation in Routing which covers path selection, the use of different equipment for different carriers, different routes and facilities by different carriers, and the selection of pre-carriage and on-carriage carriers based on the carrier selection for the primary move. Additionally OTM will be able to split and recombine pallets under certain conditions to increase the utilization of equipment with palletized freight while also managing the top loading weight constrains of the freight.

The grocery distribution example uses items with “household recognition” to configure loads which lead to easy to follow examples. The format of the presentation will consist of a business example with a blend of results and configuration but not to the extent of a TOI.

Title: Management of Driver Pay and Customer Billing using OTM at Penske Logistics
            Speaker: Sanju Sethumadhavan, CSC

The driver pay is very vital piece of functionality for a fleet operator. It is very important that OIC is provided with right set of information to process the driver pay efficiently. It is also important to efficiently manage the updates to the driver work invoice on event of changes to the related shipments.

Usually the shipments undergo a series of workflows across user roles before the shipment is flagged for generation of driver work invoice. This presentation is based on the solution which was implemented for Penske Logistics across the driver pay and customer billing.

This presentation is also focused on a unique solution developed and deployed for Penske to meet the requirements across Customer Billing using sell side shipment building workflows in OTM.

Title: Demurrage Management – A Chemical Company Use Case
                      Speaker: Al Drummond, Oracle

The “chemical company” is patterned after the requirements of several current customers who were on 5.5 when the requirements for 6.3 were done and have only recently migrated to 6.2.x so they are not yet able to take advantage of the Demurrage Transaction capabilities. This presentation is intended to serve as a “how to” type of document for the eventual implementation of existing clients but more important, it will serve as a capability presentation for sales prospects. The format of the presentation is how OTM solved the issue of asset and product visibility at the manufacturer’s site as well as at a customer’s site. Manufacturers would like to keep track of the inbound flow of raw materials as they are in transit and as they are stored in equipment that may be on site and off site. OTM has the capability to provide a permanent inventory history of such assets and product and this provides the user with the tools (database and UI) to see and manage the inbound pipeline. Additionally, when the shipper sells bulk product to customers, the shipping equipment (tanker or hopper) usually is offered as a temporary storage facility at the destination subject to a “reasonable” time limit. Manufacturers must rent their assets and the cost of ownership is factored into the sales price of the product so excess “detention” of assets drives up the cost of the product. Significant savings can be achieved by OTM’s visibility of the assets while “on site” and “off site”. Clients who implement Demurrage can realize significant benefits from that far exceed savings in Demurrage. This presentation is a “how to” presentation of the capabilities of OTM that is set in the example of an industry and told from that perspective.

Title: Advanced Ship Unit Building and Load Optmization in 6.3
                        Speaker: Rajasekhar Chennapragada, Satyam

OTM ships with advanced planning capabilities that assist in modeling and executing complex & high-value load optimization scenarios. This session would share insights and experiences around leveraging ship unit build and load optimization features for better ROI, more specifically covering enhancements from OTM 6.3.
The scenarios covered by this presentation are below:

Business rules under order configuration, locations and packaged items to assist building ship units intelligently and as per requirements.
Consolidation of ship units before & during load optimization and building rainbow pallets.
Leveraging Locations, Transport mode and order mapping to be able to run complex compatibility checks in assigning the best THU.
Evaluation of cost by Ship unit specification during mode selection.
Business rules to pack by Package reference units, qualifying them as mixed/like and handling order, ship unit splitting.
Load configuration rules to handle pattern-based loading and leveraging packaged item Type to build mixed freight pallets.
Applying stacking and orientation parameters in combination with packaging hierarchy, equipment Group and destination location, as per the business need.
Setting up Logic parameters to control, select and apply a specific load configuration rule set to the transaction.
Shipment Optimization considering Temperature controlled commodities/equipments, item incompatibilities, Equipment Reference units, and ground schedules.

Title: Succeeding with OTM in Latin America
                            Speaker: Hector Doring, TSOL/Satyam

No TMS application on the market today is as adaptable as OTM for international scenarios. However that does not mean implementing OTM in LatAm is simple. The purpose of this panel discussion is to highlight some of the similarities, differences, and issues from implementations in the region. Topics include:

Language – How good are the translations? What adjustments need to be made to screens? How does the same language vary across countries?
Support – How are users outside the US obtaining application support?
Settlements / taxes – How well does OTM manage different tax scenarios (particularly in Brazil)
Distances – What are options for obtaining, calculating, loading distances?
Rates – Probably the most complex issue. How different are they and can they be represented in OTM?
Compliance - How is Operational & Financial compliance managed in OTM? What are the solutions that are available for the same and how they can be leveraged as OTM extensions?
Document Control: What documents are required by regulatory authorities for local Transportation and how those can be generated out of OTM and integrated?

Title: Fuel Surcharge Using Rate Factors
                                Speaker: Jai Shahpuri, Consology Solutions

OTM has a very robust Fuel Surcharge setup which makes weekly/monthly rate factor updates very easy, but clients continue to manually update Fuel Surcharges periodically by loading thousands of rates via CSV. This results in 100’s of hours of wasted time and a high probability of errors. Such practices also eventually lead to system performance issues.

This how-to guide will enable clients and OTM users to setup Fuel Surcharge using Rate Factors. Once setup, clients will be able to simply enter the periodic rate factor changes and OTM will automatically create all the rates with a single click of the button.

The presentation will go through the different methods of Fuel setups, show the users how the rates are created and how to troubleshoot any issues.
